  • If someone calls you representing a bank or company that is asking for your social security number or other personal financial or contact information – DO NOT provide that information to them but call the organization they say they are calling from to see if it the bank or a legitimate call/request. Never take that chance even if it seems okay – banks and other companies want call you for this information they already have it.
  • When using online chat rooms or online media such as Twitter and Facebook never provide personal information and do not ever tell anyone you will be on vacation at a certain time and return at a certain time.

Resume Posting is protected As much As Possible by MJM

Uploading or posting your resume exposes you to a national audience of employers daily. We feel that by registering it gives you a lot more protection because it provides you with log in information such as user ID and a password to confidentially get into and out of your resume and employer alert accounts. However you have to make sure that you are also mindful of fraud and exposure that comes with online applications which are not predictable by MJM or other organizations. An ounce of prevention is worth more than passivity. NEVER provide your SSN or any other account numbers on your resume!

Privacy is Up to Us All

You can post your resume and not include contact information that would provide home location or personal information that may be traced back to you personally. This is considered a Private Resume posting or Blank Resume Posting.
You can also post to the public resume database without any of your contact information being displayed. This means removing contact information from all other documents such as your resume.

You are in Charge of Your Own Information

Managing your privacy is as simple as selecting which pieces of your contact information are displayed. This is done in any section of the resume where personal contact information is requested; "Contact Information." Prudance in providing information is an individual must and only you can make sure you are not providing information that would harm you. Please be advised that any online job board will never initiate a request for your personal information via email or pop-up window.
